#taketenminutes focuses on the rising number of younger women being diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Through teaming up with Young Survival Coalition, I hoped that I could help them spread the idea of performing monthly ten minute self-examinations in women under forty. That is also what gave rise to the name of the campaign itself.
Self Exam Pamphlet
This guides goal is to give women a cheat-sheet to complete self-examinations in the comfort of their own homes. This pamphlet would be found in both doctors offices as well as be a tear-out in popular women’s magazines.
The Pink Clock
A five-year plus survival expectancy is what surrounds those diagnosed with breast cancer. This being the title of my clock I wanted to then focus on the difference in survival rates between the four stages of breast cancer. The ribbons representing the fighters who survived while the black representing those who lost the fight.
Breast Cancer Exhibit
Prevent, detect, survive. Phrases like this are becoming more and more common which is what this exhibit hopes to bring to the forefront when discussing breast cancer. When one is conscious of prevention and what that consists of, the chance of having to experience that fight firsthand becomes much lower.
